Keep in mind the new xp rates. Getting 94 or even 82 mage will be much slower. I think I have canceled my plans for DT rush because of that.

Sounds like a solid plan. but you have to fit in 55 mage somwhere to actually do dt

Interesting tactic, but I believe the higher the combat you rush, the more advantage you have, and the chance to be able to pk those people trying to do dt in the long run, which makes you profit and ultimately makes it safe for you to do the quest by yourself.
