Good luck on the grind mate. -
I rushed the melee route season #1, and I found it to be a bit unfulfilling when I was pking with some friends. Range allows you to combo with magic and save it, as well as kill higher level stuff early on. The melee can always wait till later when tribridding becomes a little more necessary. This is at least my feelings from after playing deadman mode x2.
