Like the others have been saying, it gets your hp and combat levels up. If you die, it sucks to retrain but you're ahead of most players by having a reliable ko/tribrid option. Combats aren't going to stop any real pkers but it keeps the noobs off you.

I've seen mole pkers a couple times but it's decent money - especially with brews being so important.

Grats man. 6-7 brews was good enough for me when I was doing my runs. Prayer/Restores are the important ones - definitely cut it a little close there.

At worst, you're screwing anyone who kills you out of the loot. Seems worth to me.

I got my gilded altar and mahogany eagle lectern today, happy to donate laws or use of the house as I can.

I'm going for 70/80/80 melees at the moment. Definitely prioritize defence, plus you might as well have decent stats to use DDS.

Hoping to break 100 soon. Died a couple times and my melees have suffered, took the opportunity to do DT and quest for a bit though.
